— Common questions —

What people actually ask us

Can cellulose cause mold? →

Short answer: no, if it's installed right. Cellulose is borate-treated to resist mold and pests. The real risk is moisture intrusion, we flag that in every estimate.

What are the downsides of spray foam? →

Cost is the biggest one, 3–5x cellulose. It also off-gasses during cure (24–48 hrs), and removal later is a pain. Great product, just not always the right call.

Is DIY worth it vs hiring a pro? →

For accessible attics with decent headroom, absolutely. We rent blowers free with bag purchase and walk you through the whole thing. Tight spaces or walls? Call us.

How many bags do I need? →

Depends on sq footage and target R-value. A 1,000 sq ft attic going to R-45 needs roughly 60-65 bags. We'll calculate it exactly, for free.

How do I know if my insulation needs replacing? →

Drafts near outlets, high winter heating bills, or insulation that's visibly settled below joist tops. If your attic is under R-30, you're losing money every month.

What R-value do I need in Indiana? →

DOE recommends R-45 to R-60 for Indiana attics. Most existing homes sit at R-20 to R-30 that gap is costing you real money every winter.
